Malcolm Gray is a Portfolio Manager at Investec Asset Management accountable for our Responsible Investment (RI) portfolios since 2005.
Malcolm currently manages a number of equity and multi-asset portfolios with a South African and Pan-African bias for a range of institutional and sovereign wealth clients.
Malcolm joined Investec in 2000 and served as the Head of Client Service from 2003, where he was responsible for both the institutional and retail client service teams. Since 2007 he has focused full-time on portfolio management.
Malcolm is an admitted attorney, having specialised in commercial and environmental law at Shepstone & Wylie in Durban, South Africa. Malcolm holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology and Hydrology (1991), as well as a Bachelor of Laws degree (1995) and a Master of Laws degree (Environmental Law/1996) obtained at the University of Natal (Pietermaritzburg).
Amongst others, he is a member of the ASISA RI investment standing committee, the deputy chair of the ASISA Transformation board committee and a member of the JSE SRI advisory board, which provides independent oversight to the current JSE SRI index.
