Our Fixed Income & Currency capability is a core part of Investec’s business and accounts for over one-third of client assets.

We have developed our capability over many years to offer specialist investment strategies including emerging markets debt, alongside our multi-strategy and developed markets offerings.

Our investment process achieves a balance between quantitative and qualitative analysis. Sophisticated quantitative tools and systems are used to help analyse and filter each universe while our analysts use their skill, judgement and experience to add value in their specialist area.

Fundamentals, valuation and market price behaviour are our three “Compelling Forces”, through which our teams seek to identify attractive investments. Our dedicated process aims to add value through separate bond and currency decisions, with the flexibility to take long and short positions. Like many Investec teams, the Fixed Income team benefits from being based in two sites: London and Cape Town, bringing emerging markets and global insights together first-hand.
