- Current qualification minimum QCA Level 3 – equivalent to 2 A-Levels

- New minimum QCF Level 4 – equivalent to 1st year of a degree from start 2013

- Anyone currently studying for Level 4 can make up any gaps using CPD (qualification gap filling) to meet new Level 4 standard.

- People who joined industry after 30 June 2010 have 30 month time limit to complete qualifications starting from date final rules published (likely end 2010)
