Sangeeth is the deputy managing director of the Africa Client Group and has been with Investec Asset Management since 2000. He is responsible for the strategic direction of the business and several of our key client relationships.Read more
Prior to this role, Sangeeth was the Global Head of Product Development and worked collaboratively with the investment and business development teams in order to develop and enhance the various investment capabilities offered to advisor and institutional investors.
Sangeeth is an actuary by profession and an alumnus of Harvard Business School’s leadership development programme.

Jeremy is a regular voice in the media, at conferences and to the investment-related world at large, responsible for commenting on current affairs, economics and investment markets.

With the company since 1992, Jeremy has been with the firm for 25 years, during which the business grew from a small Cape Town Asset Management firm to a significant global business managing clients assets in excess of R1.6 trillion*.
Jeremy also served on the board of Western Province / Stormers rugby from 2003 to 2005, a period in which their performance was particularly poor!
Although he studied accounting at the University of Cape Town and Economics at the University of Witwatersrand, Jeremy is neither an accountant nor an economist, but uses these skills to demystify what the accountants and economists are saying.

Hanré is a portfolio manager within the Commodities & Resources team covering precious metals and frontier and emerging market resources. Prior to joining the firm in 2013, he was the Chief Financial Officer of Xstrata Alloys overseeing Xstrata plc’s chrome and platinum interests in South Africa. He joined Xstrata in 2004, and also held other senior roles in Strategy, M&A and Investor Relations in London as part of the core team that built Xstrata into a global diversified mining company, subsequently acquired by Glencore for $30bn in 2013.Read more
His mining career started as graduate engineer at Anglo American plc (with experience at AngloGold and AngloCoal) and later also worked for De Beers and Accenture.
Hanré graduated from Oxford University with a Master’s degree in Business Administration. He has also holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering and a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) degree in Economics.

Hannes is a portfolio manager responsible for the SA Equity & Multi-Asset strategies in Investec Asset Management’s 4Factor Equity team. His focus is on the General Equity and Balanced strategies and equity hedge funds.Read more
Prior to joining the firm, Hannes was a portfolio manager at Fairtree Capital. He was also an analyst and head of the equities trading desk. Before that, he held various positions within the Sanlam Group, including being a founding member of MiWay Insurance and member of the Group Corporate Finance team. Hannes completed his articles at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Hannes holds a Bachelor of Accounting Honours as well Bachelor of Accounting Masters degree from Stellenbosch University. Hannes is a Chartered Accountant and CFA Charterholder.

John is a portfolio manager at Investec Asset Management with responsibility for our Value Equity Strategy. He joined the firm in 2000 as the sector head of Industrials, a position he held until early 2003.Read more
Prior to Investec Asset Management, John worked at HSBC Asset Management as a director of Institutional Asset Management for two years and prior to that, at Simpson McKie Stockbrokers (now HSBC Securities) as the head of financial and industrial research. He was also a director of the company. From 1990 to 1996, John was an analyst in the retail, construction, furniture, motor, media and general industrial sectors, and was ranked in the Financial Mail rankings between 1991 and 1996 in most of these sectors, achieving the top ranking in retail in 1994.
John graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Economics and obtained his Honours through the University of South Africa. He is a CFA Charterholder.

Neil is a portfolio manager within Investec Asset Management’s SA Equities & Multi-Asset team, where his focus is on listed property. Neil commenced listed real estate portfolio management and analysis upon transferring to the investment team in February 2004.Read more

Peter is a co-head of SA & Africa Fixed Income and is a portfolio manager in the South African Rates team at Investec Asset Management. He has responsibility for a range of fixed income portfolios, including the Flexible Bond and Diversified Income strategies, complementing the team with his global macro experience.Read more
Prior to joining Investec Asset Management, he spent eight years as an interest rate derivative trader at Goldman Sachs in London, with responsibility for managing European swap flow and prop books.
Peter holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) from the University of Cape Town, and a Master of Science degree in Finance from the London Business School. He is also a Chartered Accountant (SA) and a CFA Charterholder.

Rob is head of research for the Quality team and is responsible for design and implementation of the research process. Prior to this, he was head of the industrial, consumer and technology sector in our Frontier & Emerging Markets team, a position he assumed in 2003. Rob was previously a sector equity portfolio manager, whose responsibilities included the Momentum Industrial Fund (Unit Trust) and a building block of the SYmmETRY range called the Old Mutual Industrial and Consumer Fund. In addition, Rob managed the Investec Growth Fund unit trust for two years to 2001 and the Investec Global Consumer Fund for close to two years, after its launch in 1996.Read more
Rob joined Investec Asset Management in 1995 as an investment analyst. He has spent more than 15 years analysing global consumer branded companies. He graduated from the University of Cape Town with a Bachelor of Business Science degree in Finance.

Lawson Naidoo is the Executive Secretary of the Council for the Advancement of the South African Constitution (CASAC), an organisation committed to the principles of progressive constitutionalism, democracy and the rule of law.
CASAC and Lawson played a key role in the establishment of the Save South Africa campaign.
He is a Partner at The Paternoster Group: African Political Insight, a political risk consultancy founded in 2015.Read more
He is also a trustee of the Canon Collins Educational & Legal Assistance Trust, an NGO that focuses on providing scholarships to tertiary students, and the promotion of human rights in southern Africa. Lawson has served on the Board of Trustees of Momentum Health since 2005 and served as the Chairman of the Scheme’s Governance and Remuneration Committee since 2008.
He spent many years in political exile in the UK, and worked at the ANC Mission in London from 1987 to 1992, serving, inter alia, as a Spokesman for the ANC.
He holds an LL.B from the University of Southampton, and LL.M from the University of Cambridge.

Richard is based in New York and joined Investec Asset Management in 2006. He is a Managing Director and oversees Investec Asset Management’s Global Advisor business. He is also head of Global Financial Institutions Group and is responsible for our business in South America and our North American Advisor business.Read more
Richard originally joined the firm in 2006 as managing director to head the Americas region. He subsequently headed up our business in Europe and then became responsible for our institutional and advisor business in North and South America; and then finally oversaw our fund distribution business in Asia Pacific. Prior to this Richard was CEO of Janus International and was responsible for their business outside the US. He was also senior vice president at J&W Seligman in New York. Before moving to the US in 1994 Richard was based in London and was the international marketing director for Henderson Global Investors, and prior to this worked at Morgan Grenfell Investment Management and Hambros Investment Management. He graduated from the University of Leeds in 1984 with a joint honours degree in English and German.
